一封介紹性的信箋，介紹你自己以及你應(yīng)征的目的，并有機會在其中概述你的技能和你能為公司做出的貢獻，大多數(shù)公司除了要個人呢簡歷之外還要求附上一封說明信。（an introductory letter which introduces yourself， states your intent， and gives you an opportunity to summarize your skills and sell what you can offer to a company. most companies require a cover letter in addition to aresume.）主要包括三部分：開場白（anfang）、自我介紹（selbstvorstellung）和結(jié)束語（schluss）。
二、 簡歷（resume）
一個正規(guī)的個人鑒定，描繪出專業(yè)目標、工作經(jīng)歷和教育背景 以及與某專業(yè)相關(guān)的其他的活動，或參加的專業(yè)組織，等等。這是一種向一個可能成為你老板的人推銷你技能和專業(yè)技巧的手段。（a formal document which identifies a person， outlines professional goals， describes work history and educational background， and identifies other activities， memberships in professional associations，etc.， which are relevant to a career. it is a tool by which you market or sell your skills and expertise to a potential employer.）
英文簡歷與中文簡歷內(nèi)容相似，主要包括：
(一)求職目標（goals）：
一份描述你專業(yè)抱負或是職業(yè)目標的陳述報告。（a statement which expresses your professional ambitions and/or career objectives.）包括：目標（objective）、工作目標（job objective）、職業(yè)目標（career objective）、謀求職位（positionsought）、希望職位（position wanted）、申請職位（position applied for）等。
