七夕節(jié)的習俗英語

　　七夕“乞巧”的風俗由來已久，年輕女孩子們在這一天乞求的，不僅僅是巧奪天工的好手藝，還會乞求一段美好姻緣。似乎是TVB劇中經常出現七夕之夜女子祈求姻緣的橋段~不知道今年七夕，有多少人會在星空之下默默祈禱呢?

　　七夕“乞巧”的風俗：

　　On that night, unmarried girls prayed to the Weaving Maid star for the special gift. When the star Vega was high up in the sky, girls performed a small test by placing a needle on the water's surface: If the needle did not sink, the girl was considered to be ready to find a husband. Once a year, on this day, girls could wish for anything their hearts desired.

　　七夕之夜，未婚女子通常會向織女星乞巧，也會乞求姻緣。她們將一根針放在水面上，倘若針不下沉的話，她們就能得償所愿。據說這一晚女孩子們能祈求任何心愿成真。

　　七夕“乞巧”的風俗相關英語表達：

　　這里“乞巧”的這個“乞”，我們可以說beg，也可以用plead這個詞，plead to be endowed with perfect sewing skills. 貌似這兩個詞都和浪漫氣氛不符哦，plead其實更常見于法庭上，律師為某人辯護，就是plead one's case;而那句我們耳熟能詳的“不認罪”，則是plead not guilty，反之“認罪”就是plead guilty——注意這里的用法，比較特殊哦，是在動詞plead后面直接加形容詞guilty——法官就會經常問這句話：Do you plead guilty or not guilty?你可認罪?(好有包大人的風范啊~)

　　也有一個更常見的情況，就是被告人plead insanity，以精神失常為借口，試圖減輕刑罰。

　　回到七夕乞巧的風俗吧，乞巧是為了精進自己的女紅手藝，女紅(注意啊注意啊，這里的“紅”讀音是“工”，不要讀錯了哦)也就是針線活，用英語說就是doing needlework。印象中女紅活兒就是刺繡(embroider)吧，不知道現在還有多少女孩子會刺繡活兒呢?似乎大家都更prefer簡單易學的十字繡 (cross-stitch)了。那么，學十字繡的話，也是需要乞一下巧的吧……

　　至于祈求姻緣，這個恐怕還是要看緣分哦，如果兩個人是predestined to be together，那么是無論如何都會相遇并相愛的吧。在這里祝天下有情人終成眷屬吧!(All shall be well, and Jack shall have Jill!)

　　七夕節(jié)的來歷

　　每年農歷七月初七這一天是我國漢族的傳統(tǒng)節(jié)日七夕節(jié)。因為此日活動的主要參與者是少女，而節(jié)日活動的內容又是以乞巧為主，故而人們稱這天為“乞巧節(jié)”或“少女節(jié)”、“女兒節(jié)”。七夕節(jié)被國務院列入第一批國家非物質文化遺產名錄�，F又被認為是“中國情人節(jié)”。

　　傳說中，七夕牛郎織女一年相會一次，就在這一天。七夕節(jié)始終和牛郎織女的傳說相連，這是一個很美麗，千古流傳的愛情故事，是我國四大民間愛情傳說之一。在中國七夕節(jié)那天，情侶們神廟祈禱永遠的愛和甜蜜的婚姻。單身的人也會去神廟祈禱自己能擁有一份美好的愛。

　　People believe that the star Vega, east of the Milky Way, is Zhi Nu and, at the constellation of Aquila, on the western side of the Milky Way, Niu Lang waits for his wife.On Chinese Valentine's Day, couples go to temples to pray for everlasting love and marriage. Even single people will frequent the temple for luck in love.

　　1.中國傳統(tǒng)節(jié)日的習俗七夕節(jié)

　　The seventh day of the seventh lunar month is the only Chinese festival devoted to love in the Lunar calendar.

　　Unlike St. Valentine's Day in Western countries there is not so much emphasis on giving chocolates, flowers and kisses. Instead, Chinese girls prepare fruits, melons and incense(熏香) as offerings to Zhi Nu, the weaving maiden, praying to acquire high skills in needlecraft(裁縫), as well as hoping to find satisfactory husbands.

　　In the evening, people sit outdoors to observe the stars. Chinese grannies would say that, if you stand under a grapevine, you can probably overhear what Zhi Nu and Niu Lang are talking about.

　　2.七夕節(jié)又稱“少女節(jié)”，、“女兒節(jié)”。是中國傳統(tǒng)節(jié)日中最具浪漫色彩的一個節(jié)日，也是過去姑娘們最為重視的日子。在這一天晚上，婦女們穿針乞巧，祈禱福祿壽活動，陳列各式家具、用具都精美小巧、惹人喜愛。
