七夕節(jié)的習(xí)俗英語(yǔ)
七夕“乞巧”的風(fēng)俗由來(lái)已久，年輕女孩子們?cè)谶@一天乞求的，不僅僅是巧奪天工的好手藝，還會(huì)乞求一段美好姻緣。似乎是TVB劇中經(jīng)常出現(xiàn)七夕之夜女子祈求姻緣的橋段~不知道今年七夕，有多少人會(huì)在星空之下默默祈禱呢?
七夕“乞巧”的風(fēng)俗：
On that night, unmarried girls prayed to the Weaving Maid star for the special gift. When the star Vega was high up in the sky, girls performed a small test by placing a needle on the water's surface: If the needle did not sink, the girl was considered to be ready to find a husband. Once a year, on this day, girls could wish for anything their hearts desired.
七夕之夜，未婚女子通常會(huì)向織女星乞巧，也會(huì)乞求姻緣。她們將一根針?lè)旁谒嫔希热翎槻幌鲁恋脑�，她們就能得償所愿。�?jù)說(shuō)這一晚女孩子們能祈求任何心愿成真。
七夕“乞巧”的風(fēng)俗相關(guān)英語(yǔ)表達(dá)：
這里“乞巧”的這個(gè)“乞”，我們可以說(shuō)beg，也可以用plead這個(gè)詞，plead to be endowed with perfect sewing skills. 貌似這兩個(gè)詞都和浪漫氣氛不符哦，plead其實(shí)更常見(jiàn)于法庭上，律師為某人辯護(hù)，就是plead one's case;而那句我們耳熟能詳?shù)?ldquo;不認(rèn)罪”，則是plead not guilty，反之“認(rèn)罪”就是plead guilty——注意這里的用法，比較特殊哦，是在動(dòng)詞plead后面直接加形容詞guilty——法官就會(huì)經(jīng)常問(wèn)這句話：Do you plead guilty or not guilty?你可認(rèn)罪?(好有包大人的風(fēng)范啊~)
也有一個(gè)更常見(jiàn)的情況，就是被告人plead insanity，以精神失常為借口，試圖減輕刑罰。
回到七夕乞巧的風(fēng)俗吧，乞巧是為了精進(jìn)自己的女紅手藝，女紅(注意啊注意啊，這里的“紅”讀音是“工”，不要讀錯(cuò)了哦)也就是針線活，用英語(yǔ)說(shuō)就是doing needlework。印象中女紅活兒就是刺繡(embroider)吧，不知道現(xiàn)在還有多少女孩子會(huì)刺繡活兒呢?似乎大家都更prefer簡(jiǎn)單易學(xué)的十字繡 (cross-stitch)了。那么，學(xué)十字繡的話，也是需要乞一下巧的吧……
至于祈求姻緣，這個(gè)恐怕還是要看緣分哦，如果兩個(gè)人是predestined to be together，那么是無(wú)論如何都會(huì)相遇并相愛(ài)的吧。在這里祝天下有情人終成眷屬吧!(All shall be well, and Jack shall have Jill!)
七夕節(jié)的來(lái)歷
每年農(nóng)歷七月初七這一天是我國(guó)漢族的傳統(tǒng)節(jié)日七夕節(jié)。因?yàn)榇巳栈顒?dòng)的主要參與者是少女，而節(jié)日活動(dòng)的內(nèi)容又是以乞巧為主，故而人們稱這天為“乞巧節(jié)”或“少女節(jié)”、“女兒節(jié)”。七夕節(jié)被國(guó)務(wù)院列入第一批國(guó)家非物質(zhì)文化遺產(chǎn)名錄�，F(xiàn)又被認(rèn)為是“中國(guó)情人節(jié)”。
傳說(shuō)中，七夕牛郎織女一年相會(huì)一次，就在這一天。七夕節(jié)始終和牛郎織女的傳說(shuō)相連，這是一個(gè)很美麗，千古流傳的愛(ài)情故事，是我國(guó)四大民間愛(ài)情傳說(shuō)之一。在中國(guó)七夕節(jié)那天，情侶們神廟祈禱永遠(yuǎn)的愛(ài)和甜蜜的婚姻。單身的人也會(huì)去神廟祈禱自己能擁有一份美好的愛(ài)。

The seventh day of the seventh lunar month is the only Chinese festival devoted to love in the Lunar calendar.
Unlike St. Valentine's Day in Western countries there is not so much emphasis on giving chocolates, flowers and kisses. Instead, Chinese girls prepare fruits, melons and incense(熏香) as offerings to Zhi Nu, the weaving maiden, praying to acquire high skills in needlecraft(裁縫), as well as hoping to find satisfactory husbands.
In the evening, people sit outdoors to observe the stars. Chinese grannies would say that, if you stand under a grapevine, you can probably overhear what Zhi Nu and Niu Lang are talking about.
2.七夕節(jié)又稱“少女節(jié)”，、“女兒節(jié)”。是中國(guó)傳統(tǒng)節(jié)日中最具浪漫色彩的一個(gè)節(jié)日，也是過(guò)去姑娘們最為重視的日子。在這一天晚上，婦女們穿針乞巧，祈禱福祿壽活動(dòng)，陳列各式家具、用具都精美小巧、惹人喜愛(ài)。
